LAHORE (FNNI) Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has said that Civil Defense is a well-organized institute being set up with collaboration of government which works for enhancing power and capacity building of nation during war and peace. Civil Defense takes in all those steps which will hinder enemies to achieve their targets during their attack, unlike real fight. It actually includes such activities of Government which arm people with every needful precautionary step as will help them to survive from earthquake and other natural calamities to form safe society. In his message on World Civil Defense Day, the Chief Minister said that in order to minimize the loss of life and property of citizens, civil defense plays a vital role and the responsibility of saving people in war and peace lies at them. Observing Civil Defense Day is an attempt to make people ponder and adopt precautionary measures in advance also it is not able to pay homage to all those people and organizations that are rendering valuable services during wars and calamities breakout, he added. Shehbaz Sharif said that it is the need of hour to reorganize this institute at concrete basis and equip with latest trends to execute more efficiently.

10 THOUSAND SCHOOLS TO BE SHIFTED TO SOLAR: SEHBAZ SHARIF ACCORDS APPROVAL TO KHADIM-E-PUNJAB UJALA PROGRAM – Fnni.org

LAHORE (FNNI) Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has accorded approval to Khadim-e-Punjab Ujala Program under which ten thousand schools of the province will be shifted to solar. Decision was made in a high level meeting high-level over by Chief Minister, here today. This program will be completed by the end of this year and currently commenced from the schools of Southern Punjab and will forwarded in phases. An effective mechanism is being devised for its monitoring, he added. Addressing the meeting, the Chief Minister said that Khadim-Punjab Ujala Program is of paramount importance which will lit-up schools deprived of electricity with Solar Panels in far-flung areas. He said that a road show will be organized for it in China where all the renowned companies will be invited. Consortium will be developed to move the program forward effectively and for operative execution of this program, a survey of selective sites will be conducted in 09 divisions with consultation of advisors, also Quaid-e-Azam Solar Park Company to seek help if needed, he added. Shehbaz Sharif said that our future assets are these students and we will offer all-out resources to provide them with a conducive environment for their educational activities so that they can wholeheartedly focus on their education and bring glory to their country. He said that this project of shifting schools to solar panels has already delayed and now without any further adjournment, we have to work hard round the clock for its compensation. He directed to present final recommendations emphasizing its important features within seven days and also adopt same transparency policy in this program which is now face of Punjab Government’s development projects. Earlier, Secretary Energy presented a detailed briefing about Khadim-e-Alaa Ujala Program. Provincial Ministers Rana Mashhood Ahmed, Dr. Ayesha Ghaus Pasha, Advisor Dr. Umer Saif, Chief Secretary, Chairman Planning &Development, secretaries of concerned departments and other concerned officials attended the meeting.

Lahore (FNNI) Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has said that Pakistan is all of us and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Sindh, and Punjab are its units. He said that imagination of Pakistan is impossible without all the four provinces and Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. Shehbaz Sharif said that citizens living in KPK and other provinces are our brothers. The whole Pakistan grieves over any incident of terrorism occurring anywhere in the country, he added. He said that terrorists have neither any religion nor geographical identity and they are only terrorists. He said as Chief Minister of the province, he assures that search and combing operations being conducted are not against any nation rather their target is terrorists and their facilitators. He said that Pakhtuns living in Punjab are our brothers and sisters and very close to us and their security is as dearer to us as our own. He said that no one can be allowed to fan sectarianism for the sake of politics. Shehbaz Sharif said that anything aimed at harming Pakistan should be strictly reprimanded. Elimination of terrorists is the mission of the people of KPK, Balochistan, Sindh and Punjab, he added. He said that those indulging in baseless propaganda are doing no service to Pakistan rather committing enmity to the country. He said that enmity to the country through baseless propaganda should be avoided and added that hatred not spread and the roots of the country not followed for the sake of the country and the nation.
He was talking to a delegation of KPK led by Advisor to Prime Minister Engineer Ameer Muqam which called on him, here today. Shehbaz Sharif said that Pakistan is our home and we are very close to each other. People residing in the four provinces are great Pakistanis who always pray for solidarity, progress, and prosperity of the nation and the country. He said that beautiful amalgamation of KPK, Balochistan, Sindh, Punjab, Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan is the foundation of a beautiful Pakistan and hearts of its people beat together. He said as Chief Minister Punjab, he assures that it is impossible to even think of such a matter in Punjab as Pakistan becomes great due to all the four provinces. He said that great Pakistanis laid down their lives in Gulshan-e-Iqbal and Mall Road tragedies while Pak Army, Police, politicians, and people belonging to other sects have rendered innumerable sacrifices in the war against terrorism.
He said that a new history of sacrifices has been written by the people of Pakistan in the war against terrorism which should not be differentiated as it is tantamount to enmity of the country. Shehbaz Sharif said that the same terrorist group involved in Gulshen-e-Iqbal episode was perpetrator the of Mall Road carnage which has cost the lives of brave police officers and officials. He said that all provinces of Pakistan including Punjab, KPK, Baluchistan and Sindh have rendered unprecedented sacrifices against menace of terrorism and the suicide attacker of Mall Road bloodshed belonged to Afghanistan whereas his facilitator was from Bajor Agency. Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the fact the terrorists don’t belong to any religion or any geographical entity rather their identity is just terrorists and Pakistani people are determined to stand again with more passion for curbing the scourge of terrorism and extremism with coordinated efforts as such coward acts can’t shatter our determination. He said that we have to fight together to nip this evil of corruption in the bud with brotherhood and devotedness avoiding every kind of extremism, ethnicity and racial discrimination. The Chief Minister said being head of province he assures that operation will be carried out against terrorists only without any racial discrimination. He said that we have always promoted brotherhood, harmony and unity and we have to fight against terrorism jointly. The Chief Minister said as a head of a province, he assures that the operations being conducted are only against terrorists and their facilitators without discrimination of colour, cast and creed and added that sanctity of Chadar and Shareware will be cared during such operations. He said that Pakhtuns living in Punjab are our brethren and their security is as dearer to us as our own. He said that those involved in lawlessness will be dealt with sternly as per law. He said that no one can be allowed to fan sectarianism through baseless propaganda. Shehbaz Sharif said that we have called rangers in Punjab so that terrorists and their facilitators could be eliminated. He said that it is our collective responsibility to inform police about any suspicious person. He said that we will have to cope with the enemies through strong relations of love, brotherhood and affection. The Chief Minister announced to constitute a joint committee for redressing genuine complaints of KPK brethren which will take steps for resolving the complaints. He said that despite recent incidents of terrorism, Punjab government after consultation decided to hold final match of PSL in Lahore. He said that the cooperation of the entire nation is needed for making this match successful so that nefarious designs of brutal enemies could be foiled. Shehbaz Sharif said that we all jointly have to make this final of PSL a success to foil the conspiracy of the enemies. Speaking on the occasion, Advisor to the Prime Minister Engineer Amir Muqam said that terrorists are enemies of the entire nation; they are with the Punjab government and fight the terrorists bravely. Provincial Minister for Law Rana Sanaullah, Inspector General Police, Secretary Home and Secretary Information were present on the occasion.

Rawalpindi (FNNI) Two brick Kiln owners have been booked on the charge of child labor by Rawat police on Tuesday.According to the details, Director Labour Welfare Rawalpindi Division Mr. Liaqat Ali accompanied by Assistant Director Ehsan Yousaf and other field officers conducted raid on Shafi bricks and Sarhad Punjab bricks located at Chakk Belli khan Road Rawalpindi and found minor kids namely Mohsin of 9 years old , Maryam 8 years old , Shakeel 11 years old and Naila 7 years old doing labour work at brick kilns. Director Labour got registered FIR against both brick Kiln owners Chaudry Ibrar and Saifullah Khan in Rawat police station on violating Child Prohibition Act 2016. Rawat police after registration of FIR apprehended both accused. Director labor warns all brick Kiln owners to avoid using underage kids as labors otherwise, they will be dealt under the law.

FAISALABAD (FNNI) The Executive Committee of the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) has condemned the unnecessary tactics employed by tax authorities to harass the existing taxpayers instead of exploring new taxpayers.
The executive committee meeting was held here today with President FCCI Engineer Muhammad Saeed Sheikh in the chair. It noted that the local Regional Tax Office was brutally implementing the tax policy of FBR which is not only fomenting harassment among the existing taxpayers but was also discouraging new assesses to come into the tax net,Rana Sikandar Azam SVP said that the FCCI has the privilege to raise the issue of section 38-A and 40-B of sale tax Act and now all other chambers and trades bodies are protesting against these black laws.
Chaudhry Talat Mehmood said that he is receiving daily 20 to 25 complaints of tax harassment. He told that tax officials have issued notices of Rs. 2 lac to a person with meager financial resources.
Haji Talib Hussain Rana told that notices of 2014 are being issued mow after a lapse of 3 years. He said that due to the harsh government policies the industrial units are slowly dying. He said that in his seizing units only one machine out of 4 is working. He said that tax officials are demanding 2 % tax for the alternate fuel used instead of Sui gas.
Similarly, sale tax and income tax notices are also being dispatched to harass them. He said that in the case of old cases various unnecessary documentations are also being demanded.
President Engineer Muhammad Saeed Sheikh expressed concern over this attitude of tax officials and said that he will take up this issue at all available forums and try to resolve this issue as early as possible.
Vice president Engineer Ahmed Hassan said that actually, nontaxpayers are responsible for the problems of existing taxpayers. He suggested a seminar for the education of nontax payers in order to bring them into the tax net.
Similarly, the tax officials should also contact the office-bearers of local associations and convince them to discharge their national obligation.
Chaudhry Talat Mehmood told that there is a dedicated wing to explore new taxpayers but perhaps it was intentionally ignoring multi-storey plazas cropping up in every nook and corner of the city.
Mr. Rashid Muneer told that government has exempted 5 important export sectors from tax but the commercial exporters supplying to the exporters are forced to pay 2 % in case of the non-registered buyers. He said that now they are being asked to provide proof of those nonregistered buyers or pay 17 % tax in lieu of this sale.
He further told that high court has declared null and void the 2 % tax which was being charged during last 6 months. He requested president FCCI to contact RTO to clarify this issue so that the commercial imports could carry on their normal business acting without any harassment.
President FCCI assured that a meeting will be arranged with the tax officials to seek clarification in this regard.

Rawalpindi (FNNI) Police College Sihala and Pakistan Salon Group in collaboration with Rawalpindi Arts Council arranged an informative workshop on crime scene and forensic techniques for crime and investigative journalists here on Monday. Forensic expert Aftab Ahmed Khan delivered lecture on DNA, Human Cell, Foot Prints, Bare Foot analysis, naked foot impression, crime scene, arson, missing persons, murder, bomb blast, fire angle glass fracture, finger prints and packing of exhibits. The contributor of photograph of crime scene from all over the world were Inam ul Haq, Junaid Jillani, Faheen Abbas, Muhammad Arif, Afsheen Zaman, Dale Martin, Khalid Qureshi, Syed Riffat Abbas, Salm Alam, Sher Wali, Muhammad Nawaz, Shahadat Ali, Uncel Tony, Sohail Ghafoor, Younas Abbasi, Rana Waqas, Sajid Mehmood, Tahir Ahmad, Asif Ahmed, Yasir Qazi.Forensic expert Aftab Ahmed Khan briefed that enhanced knowledge about scene documentation, evidence collection, evidence preservation, trace evidence collection, DNA, footprint & tire track collection, and preservation. Resident Director RAC Waqar Ahmed thanked Aftab Ahmed and media persons for attending such a wonder information. The five photographers were awarded gold medals while eleven were awarded silver medals.

Rawalpindi (FNNI) Under the supervision of Chairman Metro bus and Punjab Sports board School Cricket tournament 2017 will be held in Rawalpindi in April. Students below the age of sixteen years from different educational institutions will participate in the tournament to be jointly organized by Pakistan Cricket Board and District Sports department Rawalpindi. This was disclosed by District Sports Officer Rawalpindi Mr. Waheed Babar in a meeting held here today to review the arrangements of the tournament. Focal person Mr. Raja Tahir, Muhammad Rizwan, Masood Ahmed, Muhammad Bilal, Asad Mehmood, Muhammad Ramzan, Qazi Rafi Uzma and teachers from the different physical educational institutions attended the meeting.
Mr. Waheed Babar said that students from all seven Tehsil of Rawalpindi including Rawalpindi, Murree, Kahuta, Kotli Sattiyan, Kallar Syedan, Gujar Khan and Taxila can get themselves register by March 5, 2017. He said that all matches will be played at modern cricket grounds recently established by the Punjab Govt. in educational institutions. of Rawalpindi. The teams from public schools and ten from private schools will take part in the tournament.
