During the speech of the Chief Minister, women raised slogans in an enthusiastic manner.CM PUNJAB-1 Women Ministers of Punjab Cabinet including Begum Zakia Shahnawaz, Hameeda Waheed-Ud-Din, Ayesha Ghaus Pasha and Naghma Mushtaq were sitting on the stage with Chief Minister. Consul Generals of China, America, and Turkey also attended the function.
Women also got the honor of recitation from Holy Quran and reading Naat. A documentary film regarding struggle and services of Pakistani women including Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah achieving prominent place through their abilities in different sectors was exhibited on the occasion. LAHORE (FNNI) Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has put an emphasis on the role of females in development and progress of our country. There is a special protocol given to the females in Islam and our religion puts a great emphasis on making females empowered and also on giving them their rights. Empowering women is a profitable investment for the formation enlightened Society, He added.inernational-womens-day-cartoon Furthermore said in order to strengthen Pakistan females should play a vital role in their professional disciplines. Pakistani women are strong, educated, talented and hard working, they have also proven their capabilities in every walk of life. It is our priority to empower our females socially and economically and this is the reason Punjab Government has taken exemplary steps for the development of females and given them their due rights. We have increased females quota from 5 percent to 10 in government jobs and likewise, we have also given age relaxation to females. To stop violence against women, Punjab Government is building its first violence against women center in Multan, same facilities will also be provided in Punjab’s different cities. For facilitating working women, Punjab Government is also building working hostels and females are also being trained under Vocational Training Council. Females have also been given 33 percent of representation in all decision-making boards and committees. Female representation is made mandatory in the recruitment board for government jobs, in order to empower females financially the government is giving interest-free loans. We have also ensured that females get their inheritance rights through Land record management system and law and order. It is our priority to keep females on the pace of success and development and we should take every possible step to keep them in the success loop.

Rawalpindi (FNNI) An exhibition of over 70 paintings in different mediums by 43 senior and young female artists inaugurated Monday evening at the Rawalpindi Arts Council. The week-long exhibition is organized by the Development Communications Network (Devcom-Pakistan) in connection with the 6th National Women at Work Festival, an annual flagship event to mark the International Women’s Day.  3The participating artists have expressed their creative flair in all media including oil-on-canvas, watercolors, charcoal, acrylics and drawings in pen-and-ink. From figurative to expressionistic, abstract and impressionistic, and realistic and surrealistic, landscapes and still-life, the artists have touched every flavor of the aesthetics.4Well-known senior artists Nahida Raza, Riffat Ara Baig, Zehra Shamail Khan and Syeda Nadia Raza attended the event as guests of honour. Speaking on the occasion, Nahida Raza said woman nature is blessed with aesthetics and beauty, therefore, the art skills could help them groom their talent make the households more disciplined and worth living. Art has also become economically viable option for the women especially, she said adding, and the women can earn handsome while working at their leisure.5Riffat Ara Baig has put on display 11 paintings expressively depicting the woman agony including teenage pregnancy, violence against women, and workplace harassment without compromising the art values and creativity. The simpler technique using crayons in abstract form, treated with a black crayon after which a drawing can be etched onto the paper using a blunt pointed object is usually taught to children in schools. However, Baig who has been using the technique managed to instruct the workshop to effectively create paintings with more finesse.6

Nadia Raza has painted the roadside habeas and old architecture in an impressionistic style with all vibrant colors in oil-on-canvas. The bold expression catches the eye of the art lovers. Zehra Shamail plays creatively with masks in the vibrant pallet. The masks deal with a variety of contemporary human behaviors. Artistically done these lively masks speaks of skilfulness and nature flow of brush strokes.8Speaking on the occasion, Munir Ahmed the Executive Director Devcom-Pakistan and founder of the National Women at Work Festival urged the families to encourage their wives, daughters, and sisters to take part in the professional work. A professionally educated and groomed woman can contribute a much better way to the economic sustainability of the household and society.Graphic1He said the Festival was launched six years back to recognize, appreciate and encourage women’s work in all fields to inspire other womenfolk and men of their families to allow women to work in the field of their interest. Pakistan has significantly low percentage of working women, and we shall put every effort to increase the number for the economic sustainability of households and our society too.

Munir Ahmed said art is a very attractive sector for the women where they can play very well. The authorities shall provide a suitable environment so that their creative pieces could get right appreciation and market to make their creative flair commercially viable too.

Resident Director Rawalpindi Arts Council said the council was providing all best opportunities to the students to learn the art and make it a profession for themselves. Despite meager resources, the Council has provided basic art and craft education to several hundred girls, and many of them practicing their skills.

He said that Patriata is one of the unique tourist resort where people from all over the country and from abroad visits and in order to facilitate tourists, 10 crore rupees had been spent to upgrade and modernize Patriata chairlift. Raja Ashfaq Sarwar also mentioned various public welfare initiatives of Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif and said that government has focused on expanding educational, health, road communication, and other facilities by implementing the development schemes both in rural and urban areas. He said that God Almighty has blessed Pakistan with natural resources and scenic beauty and we can attract tourists by developing tourist resorts in the country and special emphasis was being laid on up gradation of recreational facilities. Punjab Minister for Labour & Manpower assured that PML (N) government will honor all its commitments and adequate funds had been allocated for the provision of basic necessities of life, especially in far-flung rural areas.

Federal Minister for Petroleum & Natural Resources Shahid Khaqan Abbasi addressing the gathering said that government is striving hard to mitigate the sufferings of common people and huge funds had been allocated for their socio-economic uplift. He condemned such elements who want to disrupt the pace of progress by creating hurdles with their negative political tactics. He further said that Pakistan is on way of economic independence and nobody would succeed to derail democracy and political process in the country.

MD, Tourism Development Corporation Punjab Ahmer Malik while briefing about the up gradation and modernization of Patriata Chairlift, said that additional safety features had been fixed to make chairlift more safe and sound. Similarly, new cabins of cable car have been placed to facilitate the tourists, he added. Ahmer Malik further said that new communication rope had also been fixed besides replacing other essential parts of cable car system. GM Operations TDCP Asjad Ghani said that amendments and improvements in Patriata Chairlift have been made in accordance with the suggestions of tourists and chairlift has been made completely automatic to prevent any failure.

Punjab Lok Mela ends with colorful ceremony – Fnni.org

Rawalpindi (FNNI) A Three Day Punjab Lok Mela at Rawalpindi Arts Council has been ended with colorful ceremony on Saturday night. The stalls of artisan like Truck Art, Wood Art, Mirror Making, Glass Painting, Embroidery, Doll Making and village prepared by this Council remained the main focus of public for three days of the festival.

The last day was more colorful than others as matrimonial rituals were presented as it were. In Saif ul Malook ki Mehfil Ali Sardar and Muhammad Razi Sultan received thunder appreciation while in Arfana Kalam ki Mehfil living legend Javed Niazi and Babar Niazi bagged thunder admiration by singing poetry of different sufi saints. Mayor Rawalpindi Sardar Naseem, MPA Raja Hanif Advocate, MPA Lubna Pirzada, MPA Malik Iftikhar, MPA Zeb un Nisa Awan and Sajada Nasheen Khari Sharif were guest of honors at the closing ceremony of the festival who also distributed shields to participants. Renowned singer Qurban Niazi, Gul Muhammad, Muzamil, Subhan, Ashir and Zahir Hussain gave wonderful performance in closing ceremony.

Rawalpindi (FNNI) The different segments of cultural performance with folk dances, Sherkhawani, Heer Khawani and mehfil-e-mushaira impressed the huge number of people gathered to visit Punjab Lok Mela at Rawalpindi Arts Council. The people also focused on the stalls of artisans second day.

MNA Tahira Aurangzeb and MPA Zeb un Nisa Awan participated as guest of honor.The day begins with the performances of Waheed Murad folk dance group followed by Arshad Mehmood and Numberdar group from Chakwal. In Mehfil-e-Sherkhawani famous Sherkhawan of Potohar Region Raja Abid Hussain gave wonderful performance while Mehfil-e-Heer Khawani Baba Group from Sheikhupura Hasnain Akbar and Aslam Bahu did Heer Khawani with wonder style which impressed the audience a lot. At the end, a mehfil-e-mushaira was arranged which was presided over by renowned poet Prof Anwar Masood while Sofia Baidar from Lahore was guest of honor. RAC arranges play Laho Laho Kashmir – Fnni.org

Rawalpindi (FNNI) Rawalpindi Arts Council arranged a stage play ‘Laho Laho Kashmir’ to show Indian atrocities on the innocent people of Kashmir in connection with Kashmir Solidarity Day.

The play was written and directed by Syed Saleem Afandi. Naheed Manzoor and Resident Director RAC Waqar Ahmed were present on the occasion. The play was acted by Waheed Minhas, Sapna Shah, Saleem Afandi, Jhalak Ali, Liaqat Shah, Tahir Sherazi and others. The main object of the drama was to highlight the current situation of Indian Held Kashmir which was happing was the sad demise of Burhan Wani. The play also paid great tribute to struggle of Kashmiri people for their separate homeland.

CM PRESIDES OVER HIGH LEVEL MEETING TO REVIEW AFFAIRS OF GREATER IQBAL PARK – Fnni.org

LAHORE (FNNI) Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif presided over a high level meeting, here today, which reviewed different matters of Greater Iqbal Park. The meeting decided to set up an autonomous authority for running the affairs of Greater Iqbal Park. The Authority will be responsible of all the matters of the Park, he added. The meeting considered proposals for bringing Royal Fort, Badshahi Masjid and Hazoori Bagh under the authority and the Chief Minister directed to submit final proposals at the earliest in this regard. Addressing the meeting, Shehbaz Sharif said that Greater Iqbal Park is the biggest historic and recreational park of Pakistan therefore; maximum facilities should be ensured to the people coming here.

He directed to take immediate steps for the illumination of royal fort at night and added that foolproof security of Greater Iqbal Park be ensured at all costs. He said that security should be monitored through CCTV Cameras round the clock. He said that a report should be presented after conducting audit of the security system and standard of cleanliness of the park be maintained at every cost. He said that the persons visiting the park should be apprised of the importance of the cleanliness. The meeting decided to arrange a fair every year in Greater Iqbal Park. He said that steps should be taken for the setting up of Horticulture School at the earliest. Shehbaz Sharif said that has increased the beauty of Lahore and international standard recreational and tourists facilities have been provided in this park. Issuing directions, Shehbaz Sharif said that best parking facilities should be ensured for those visiting the park and steps taken for making Greater Iqbal Park as the best park besides food courts should be outsourced in the park. DG PHA gave a briefing regarding Greater Iqbal Park. Provincial Ministers Malik Nadeem Kamran, Bilal Yasin, MLN Senior Leader Kh.
