44-degree temperature in the month of April has necessitated the need for extensive tree plantation in this agro-industrial city of Pakistan: Mohammad Saeed Sheikh – Fnni.org

FAISALABAD (FNNI) 44-degree temperature in the month of April has necessitated the need for extensive tree plantation in this agro-industrial city of Pakistan, said President Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) Engineer Mohammad Saeed Sheikh.

He was addressing a function while receiving the donation of hundred plants of “Bogan Baliye”. These plants were donated by Mr. Mohammad Aslam Saeed Chairman FCCI Standing Committee on Beautification and Tree Plantation.

Engineer Mohammad Saeed Sheikh said that Faisalabad has become a jungle of concrete where the tree is gradually reducing at a much faster pace. The reduction in greenery has increased temperature which has now become unbearable even in the month of April. He said that being responsible citizens we must plant maximum trees to offset the ill impacts of hot weather. He termed canal road as the blessing for the people of Faisalabad as it has enough space for the linear plantation. However, he was critical of the cutting of the healthy trees and said that district administration should clearly identify the space which will be utilized for further development so that new plantation could be made only in safe and protected areas.

Mr. Aslam Saeed Chairman FCCI Standing Committee said that 100 plants will be planted to cover the earthen slopes of the road on the eastern side of the canal and in front of FCCI Complex. It will not only save this slope from erosion but also discourage the use of this slope for dangerous passage by unscrupulous elements.
