From Snow White to Frozen: Top Disney Conspiracy Theories You Won’t Believe
Join us as we unravel the Disney conspiracy theories that are storming social media. Analyze the evidence, beliefs, and comparisons by fans to decide if these theories could hold some magical truth.
Disney movies have been a cornerstone of our childhood, captivating us with timeless stories and magical characters, from enchanted castles to daring adventures. However, there’s a curious element of intrigue has risen with conspiracy theories weaving secret bonds and sinister turns upon our beloved movies.
Mother Gothel Is the Evil Queen
Well according to this theory, Mother Gothel from Tangled (2010) and the Evil Queen from Snow White (1937) looked similar, with their characters sharing the same dagger. Both characters have tons of similarities, making the audience believe that Mother Gothel and Evil Queen are the same person.
The theory suggests that the Evil Queen from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs possess unimaginable powers and faked her death as they never showed her body. The way Mother Gothel dresses is just like the Evil Queen does. Besides there’s a poisonous apple painted on the staircase railing in Rapunzel’s tower.
So let’s analyze this theory by assessing the location and period of Tangled and compare it with Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs to see if we watched that same person in both movies.
The location and time of Snow White according to Disney-obsessed theorists is in Southern Germany during the 1500s. The palace architecture in Tangled resembles the buildings during the 1780s, somewhere in Bavaria, Germany. The palace comprises onion-dome style spirals and they were only popular in this region of Germany. Concluding the first requirement that both characters were from the same country.
The age of Mother Gothel was hard to spot yet the medieval style dress with long dropping sleeves and a belt at the waist showcased that it was popular during the 1100s to 1300s. So, Mother Gothel was more likely to be born during the 1300s as she wore the attire that was not suitable for her period. Moreover, we see that the Evil Queen wears the same attire back in the 1500s.
Now check for the second resemblance. Did you notice that magic flower Tangled that bestows immortality? It's the mystical flower, the one that grows from sunlight offering youth and good health to a person who sings to it. Just like the Evil Queen and Mother Gothel wished for.
The Little Mermaid Mother Athena x Peter Pan Theory
According to The Little Mermaid III the sequel of this series, Ariel’s mother Athena was killed by pirates. The Little Mermaid was one of the 90’s kid's favorite movies and although there’s a 36-year gap between The Little Mermaid and Peter Pan, they are connected. So the theory suggests that Ariel’s mother Athena was also in Peter Pan, a 1953 classic.
In Peter Pan's audience notices a redhead mermaid that has a striking resemblance with Ariel. The footage shows Pan dancing around the redhead looking like Ariel in Mermaid Lagoon. According to the 2008 sequel, this was the same place where Athena was attacked, rendering the fact that the red-head mermaid in Peter Pan was Ariel's mother. Since she died at the hands of pirates, fans believe that Pan’s Captain Hook was the suspect. It's because Captain Hook’s ship’s prow looks just like Athena's.
There’s a Connection Between Frozen, Tarzan, Tangled, and The Little Mermaid
So here comes another one. This conspiracy theory suggests that Prince Eric from The Little Mermaid was the brother of Anna, Elsa, and Tarzan. All of them were cousins to Rapunzel from Tangled.
Prince Eric was the heir to the throne of Arendel yet he wanted an adventurous life and hence sought permission from his parents to join the Navy. so here’s the theory. Prince Eric and Rapunzel lived in Germany while Eric’s parents, Anna and Elsa lived in Norway. Prince Eric and Elsa got their blue eyes from Queen Iduna. Rapunzel and her father also have blue eyes while Anna and Tarzan have green eyes like Eric’s Father King Agnarr.
King Agnarr and Queen Iduna allowed their son Prince Eric to live in Corona Arendell while he attended the naval academy. Since the Prince belonged to the royal family, his parents wanted him to get married and bear a child to be their next heir to the throne.
King Agnarr and Queen Iduna of Arendelle left their own kingdom to attend the wedding between Rapunzel (now with long brunette hair) and her charming Eugene Fitzherbert. The timing to visit the coast was perfect, as their son, Prince Eric, would turn 18 in a few days, and they planned on dropping by there to surprise him.
The King and Queen had hoped to lure him into the royal wedding, where he might find his lovely lady. They wanted to be the ones to tell Eric about his new baby sisters back in Arendelle, Elsa, and Anna, but also because her trip was a top-secret mission!
They did not want to risk news of their arrival traveling ahead and falling into enemy hands, putting the girls' safety at risk. That left Elsa and Anna back in Arendelle charting their course, with Elsa starting to get the hang of ruling a kingdom for the first time.
However, on the way to Corona, a strong storm broke out. The ship of the King and Queen did not survive its immersion, sinking to the ocean floor. That shipwreck, in particular, of course, is the one that during The Little Mermaid, Prince Eric stumbles upon, completely unaware his parents and missing sisters are dead.
As the years passed, Eric stayed in Corona and met Ariel, the little mermaid princess. Even as he became a husband and father, Eric remained Prince not knowing, under the laws of Arendelle, this before Elsa coming out could make him heir to the throne. She mastered her powerful control over the ice and became regent queen of Arendelle but Eric went on with life alongside Ariel out-of-reach in Corona.
Another theory is even more twisted suggesting that King Agnarr and Queen Iduna had not died in the storm at all but instead wound up washing ashore on a jungle island with a new baby boy who would grow into Tarzan.
What If Coral Survived in “Finding Nemo”?
What if, in an alternate version of Finding Nemo, Coral (Nemo's mom) didn’t die that tragic day? In this story, Coral makes it through the attack but can no longer move out of both fear and mourning because she cannot save her kids. She stands by, watching the inevitable while forced to bear the unbearable loss.
Marlin wakes up, and Coral is not there. Riddled with guilt and loss, she has moved out of their house. She cannot carry the burden of her perceived shame or that he reminds her of a family she could not protect. Coral drifts away, thinking that perhaps her leaving might be for the best.
Maybe someday Pixar could make a movie about this and bring back Coral in Finding Coral or some such romantic tale of forgiveness, love, family, and making things right, where Marlin learns that it's never too late to establish or re-establish family ties.
Kristoff Is Wearing Sven’s Dead Mother
And that is for sure one of the darker theories about Frozen! It is quite interesting how fans create such multi-layered plots that can completely shift the narrative of these beloved tales. The idea that Kristoff might be wearing the pelt of Sven's mom, simply because he has to wear something.
Since she was a part-reindeer-thing-person they figured it wouldn't offend anyone if we hint that someone in Arendelle is killing reindeer and selling their hides sort of puts an even darker spin on their friendship here. The argument is anchored in the fact Sven's loyalty isn't just a born of time-linked kinship but rather an instinctual smell-memory sense likely bearing a strong familial connection to his mother.
The reincarnated lover force that makes him attached to Kristoff can be explained through their scent bond aided by shared genes and a long history spent together.
