LAHORE (FNNI) Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is the great leader of Pakistan who has steered the country out of crisis and put it on the path to development and the country is speedily heading towards its destination of development under his leadership. He said such standards of transparency and speed have been achieved in the completion of the development projects that are unparalleled in the 70 years history of Pakistan. He said resources worth billions of rupees have been saved in mega development projects and there is no such precedence of saving resources in the history of Pakistan. He said baseless allegations have been leveled against such honest and selfless leader who has set highest standards of transparency in development projects and has spent national resources on public welfare projects in an honest and transparent manner. He said the nation will always remember historic role of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in eliminating darkness of load-shedding prevailing for the last 20 years and the nation will not forgive those who intercepted the progress through negative attitude and negative role.

Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif said bringing about improvement in the living of the deprived segments of society is the manifesto of the PML-N and the government is acting on its manifesto under the leader of Nawaz Sharif. He said the mandate given by the public to the PML-N has been honored and the people are getting benefits of speedy and timely completion of mega projects. He said fear and irritation of opponents of public prosperity is increasing and some of the political elements deprived of public service are trying to spread unrest in the country. He said politics of anarchy, differences, and allegations is poison for the development and progress in the country. He said rejected political elements are becoming an impediment in the way to progress for their lust of power and such elements want to take revenge of their defeat by obstructing the progress, but those wishing to create uncertainty in the country for personal interest will face defeat once again. He said the people have recognized fake and true leaders and they are annoyed with those spreading unrest and obstructing progress. He said mandate to rule is the way to serve the public and such mandate is obtained by serving the public and negative politics has no value as compared to the politics of public service. The Chief Minister said those trying to get power to rule from back doors will not succeed. He said those who show new circus daily at the cost of the country’s development should change their negative attitude because politics of allegations and lies is worthless when compared with politics of public service, honesty, and transparency. The Chief Minister said the PML-N has always kept public interest supreme and the PML-N has served the country and the nation from the depth of its heart for the last four years and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has become a ray of hope for the people due to public service, honesty and transparency and he take forward the journey of the public service again.

LAHORE (FNNI)Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif landed his helicopter alongside a road near Head Sulemanki in Tehsil Depalpur, Okara without prior information. The place where the Chief Minister landed his helicopter had no official vehicle, upon which, the staff of the Chief Minister signaled a passing by the car on the road to stop and Chief Minister sat in the car without any protocol to reach the wheat procurement center of Head Sulemanki. Upon seeing the Chief Minister coming in an ordinary car, farmers at procurement center chanted slogans “Shehbaz Sharif Zindabad,” and “Daikho Daikho Kaun Aya, Shair Aya,  Shair Aya.” On arrival of the Chief Minister, a large number of farmers gathered at the procurement center; and this changed the surprise inspection of the Chief Minister into an open court.
cm3 The Chief Minister listened to the complaints of the farmers and issued on the spot instructions for their solutions. The farmers thanked the Chief Minister for the provision of subsidized fertilizers and said that it has provided prompt relief to them. They further said this step should be continued; upon which, Shehbaz Sharif assured to the farmers that the step of the provision of subsidized fertilizers would continue. The Chief Minister took notice of the incident of throwing files of farmers on the road and change of record in the local police station and assured to take the culprits to the task. The farmers expressed their happiness and raised slogan” Aj Mian Dey Naaray Wajjan Gey.” The local administration and police remained totally oblivious of the surprise visit of the Chief Minister. Deputy Commissioner and DPO reached the procurement center just before the end of Chief Minister’s tour.

Rawalpindi (FNNI) Chief Justice, Lahore High Court, Mr. Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah on Thursday visited Judicial Complex Rawalpindi and inaugurated new model courts and SMS service. The Judge of Lahore High Court Mr. Justice Anwar ul Haq, Registrar Lahore High Court Rawalpindi Bench, District & Session Judge Rawalpindi Suhail Nasir, Additional District & Session Judges, Civil Judges, senior law officers, lawyers, office bearers and members of Bar Associations present on the occasion. Addressing the participants, Chief Justice, Lahore High Court, Mr. Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah said that the concept of establishing model courts in the province has produced remarkable results with regard to disposal of judicial cases on fast track. He said that a new efficient and quick disposal model justice system would be evolved in the province which would help to dispose of under trial cases within stipulated period. He said that IT technology has been introduced in the judicial system to reduce the shelf life of judicial cases. Chief Justice Mr. Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah said that 1780 cases had been disposed of in session trials within just two months which is unprecedented in the history of the judiciary which has provided extra relief to the applicants. He said that Punjab would be made model province by introducing the latest and digitalized criminal and civil judicial system. He further stated that six lakh civil trials would be completed in model courts established in six districts of the province while ADR System has also been introduced for judicial mediation. He said that three mediation center has been established in Lahore High Court where 148 cases were submitted and out of which 86 cases were resolved in just one day after mutual arbitration.  In this connection, he mentioned the role of Chamber of Commerce and other trade organizations that had approached judiciary to resolve settlement of their cases and even 15 years old cases had been remarkably resolved within just one day through judicial mediation. Chief Justice said that we are committed to alleviating “Date Culture “in the judicial system by conducting uninterrupted and regular trials of cases. He disclosed that similar mediation centers would be established in 36 districts of the province so that the maximum number of cases would be resolved between the aggrieved parties on just a cup of tea. He said that we had introduced best IT system of sub-continent to improve the working of judiciary. He further revealed that in order to facilitate judges, each civil judge at tehsil level would be provided a vehicle and this project would be started from female judges. He further said that the conditions of courtrooms would also be improved and all tehsil bar associations would be equipped with the computer, printer, furniture, and internet connection, which would help to approach the E-libraries across the world. Mr. Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah said that there is the shortage of about seven hundred judges in the judiciary. He said that new judges would be inducted by the end of December this year and examinations for the purpose would be conducted in October 2017. Chief Justice, Lahore High Court Mr. Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah laid emphasis on automation of judicial system and said that we are committed to make judiciary a knowledge bases institution and to achieve the objective, database of all cases were being consolidated which would be made available through the online system. District & Session Judge Rawalpindi Mr. Suhail Nasir while talking on the occasion appreciated the valuable contributions of Honourable Chief Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah for upgrading judicial system on modern line. He said that 22 model courts started functioning in the province on 1st February 2017 and in just two months they have decided 629 cases which included 140 murder cases, 328 narcotics cases and 161 cases of other crimes. These courts recorded the statement of 2287 witnesses and keeping in view the excellent performance of model courts two more districts of Mandi Baha Uddin and Lodhran has also been included in the program, he added. He said that it is a matter of honor that Rawalpindi District has been included in the model courts program and we will try our best to come up to the expectations of Honourable Chief Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah. On this occasion, he informed that six model courts had been established in Rawalpindi district including Taxila and Gujar Khan.  He lauded the close cooperation and spirit of bar members for speedy trials and improving the performance of courts to ensure prompt disposal of the maximum number of cases. He informed that a new underground parking project would be proposed for judicial complex Rawalpindi which would facilitate more than 250 vehicles and new courts would construct over this underground parking. He said that escalator on the overhead bridge between judicial complex and kutchery would also be made functional within next week.

Governor Punjab Rafique Rajwana, Provincial Minister Rana Mashhood Ahmed and other concerned authorities were present on the occasion. District Bar Association Multan delegation was led by its President Muhammad Yousaf Zubair while President Sher Zaman Qureshi was leading the delegation of High Court Bar Association Multan. Speaking of the occasion, Shehbaz Sharif said that PML (N) government has always preferred welfare of Lawyers’ fraternity. He said that problems of lawyers’ community have been resolved in the past and will be resolved in future as well. He said we are well aware of the fact that provision of justice is the basic entity which strengthens and develops a society well. He said those societies progress their justice is provided. Pakistan and Malaysia focus on trade diversification to improve bilateral trade volume – HC –


Islamabad (FNNI) A 13 member trade mission of Malaysia visited Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry along with H.E. Dr. Hasrul Sani Mujtabar, High Commissioner of Malaysia. Mr. Tunku Rizal was leading the delegation. The delegation was representing various sectors including hydropower generation, construction, manufacturing, water filtration technology, cosmetics, seafood etc.

Speaking at the occasion, H.E. Dr. Hasrul Sani Mujtaba, High Commissioner of Malaysia said that Pakistan and Malaysia were the first two Islamic countries that had signed FTA long time ago, but the bilateral trade was still confined to few products. He said there was an urgent need to focus on diversification of trade for improving trade figure. He said both countries have good relations in education and defense fields as over 5000 Pakistani students were studying in Malaysia while Malaysia used to send its military officers to Pakistan for training. However, he said it was high time that both countries should intensify efforts for improving two-way trade that would bring far better results for their economies. He said Pakistan should further streamline its visa policy for Malaysian businessmen so that they could easily visit Pakistan for exploring new business opportunities.

Mr. Tunku Rizal, Head of Malaysian delegation said that Pakistan and Malaysia have good potential to enhance cooperation in many fields and both countries should encourage frequent exchange of trade delegations to explore all untapped areas of potential cooperation.  Lahore (FNNI) Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has said that International Labour Day revives the memory of struggle of workers of Chicago in 1886 for their fundamental rights and sacrifices they offered in the attainment of their objectives. In his message on International Labour Day, the Chief Minister said labourers and workers play a key role in strengthening of national economy and targets of development cannot be achieved without prosperity, empowerment and due respect of the workers. He said Islam has declared the labourer as a friend of God and as such acknowledged his dignity. 123labourHe said role of labourers and workers is very important in the progress and development of the country. The more the workforce will be empowered, the soon we achieve targets of development. The Chief Minister said under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, the PML-N government is paying full attention to the welfare and upliftment of the workers’ community, adding that workforce of the country has full potential to achieve the targets of development. He said thousands of youngsters have been imparted training under the Skill Development Program of Punjab government. Besides, 87,000 children of brick-kiln workers have been enrolled in different government-sponsored schools for providing them free education, he added. Shehbaz stated that establishment of quality educational institutions for the children of labourers besides social security hospitals and labour colonies are a proof of labour-friendly policies of Punjab government. He said welfare measures for labourers would continue in future as well. “On this day, there is a need to renew the pledge that all out support would be extended for the welfare of labourers and protection of their rights,” he added.

LAHORE (FNNI) The Punjab government has launched free internet service (wifi hotspot) at over 200 places of five big cities of Lahore, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Multan and Bahawalpur while this service will also be available at 16 places in Murree. Lakhs of citizens will benefit from this service and they will get convenience in making contacts. Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif inaugurated the free internet service at a ceremony held at IrfaKareen Software Technology Park by pressing a button. Addressing the ceremony, the chief minister said the launch of the free internet service at five big cities is a huge step toward converting the province to the digital system. He said the Punjab government has taken revolutionary measures for the promotion of the IT and performance many of several government departments has been enhancing by utilizing IT. He said old system of patwaris has been replaced by the Land Record Information Management System which has provided relief to the people and the land matters have been made the easy and rural population of five crores and 60 lakh has been directly benefited from this system. He said in the old system a farmer used to get ownership document of their land after paying bribes and spending a lot of time, but in the current system ownership document can be obtained in 30 minutes without any bride while matters of transfer of land take place in 45 minutes. He said patwari culture, bribes, and corruption have been eliminated through the new system and it has provided relief to the people. He said the credit of this project launched with the cooperation of the World Bank goes to the whole team of the Punjab government.Chief Minister Punjab-3 Shehbaz Sharif said all police stations have been computerized and FIR is registered through the computer and this process has been made paper-free and no change in FIR is possible now. He said former IGP Mushtaq Ahmed Sukhera has played the vital role in the computerisation of police stations and he hopes the new IGP will also continue his legacy because ‘afsarshahi’has been eliminated by computers in police stations. He said IT labs have been set up in all government schools in Punjab and now 50,000 tablets will be also distributed that is another giant step towards utilizing the latest technology. He said during dengue epidemic IT was used and this epidemic was controlled. He said the dengue control through IT is the great lesson to follow this model in all fields of the life. He said the future of Pakistan is connected to IT and we can move forward by utilizing modern knowledge. The chief minister said IT University is operating in Irfa Kareem Technology Park while new campus of the university is being set up by acquiring land worth billions of rupees on Badian Road and the land has been handed over to its VC Dr. UmerSaif who has promised to set up the new campus in one year. He said the IT University will be great achievement and funds for it will be earmarked in the forthcoming budget. Shehbaz Sharif said the foundation stone ofBhikki power plant of 1180MW was laid on October 9, 2015, and this project was inaugurated on April 19, 2017, and a sum of Rs50 billion has been saved in this project and this saving is the real saving. He said the performance of turbine at Bhikkiis most efficient in the world. He said the performance of turbine in Guddu power plant installed in the past was 54 per cent and benchmark of Nepra is 57 per cent while the efficiency of the turbine of Bhikki is 61.9 percent that is the top efficiency in the world. He said, on the one hand, there is Neelum Jhelum project of 985MW that is still incomplete despite the passage of 18 years while on the other hand there is 1180MW Bhikki power plant that has been completed in the record minimum time of 18 months and this project has started proving 717 MW to the national grid in the first phase.CM PUNJAB-2

Chairman PITB Dr. Umer Saif briefed about steps taken to introduce e-governance and the use of the IT in education, health, police and other sectors. He also told about the purpose of free internet service. He said CM Shehbaz Sharif has extraordinary capabilities and ensures the completion of projects at the fast pace due to which the term ‘Punjab Speed’ is known in the whole world. He said IT has brought about the revolution in several departments while KPK and Sindh governments have sought cooperation from the Punjab government to bring about improvement in the performance of government departments and CM Shehbaz Sharif has directed to provide all-out cooperation to both provincial governments. Finance Minister Dr. Ayeshah Ghaus Pasha also addressed the ceremony. Provincial ministers, lawmakers, senior officers of Punjab and IT experts also participated in the ceremony. At the end of the ceremony chairman PITC, Dr. Umer Saif presented a shield to the chief minister. Lahore (FNNI)Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif chaired a high-level meeting which reviewed progress on the steps taken to improve the healthcare system and ongoing reform programs in the health sector. Addressing the meeting, the Chief Minister said that provision of quality and modern medical facilities to people is his mission which will be fulfilled at all costs. With hard work and determination steps are being taken to improve the healthcare system. The Chief Minister said that we had to move forward to serve the ailing humanity. All out resources were available for the provision of better medical facilities to the people. The Chief Minister said that Prime Minister National Health Insurance Program was successfully running in four districts of the province and the scope of this program would be extended to all districts of the province. The Chief Minister said that Punjab government had introduced the modern system of purchase, supply, and distribution of medicines and this new system would end the sale of counterfeit and substandard medicines. The Chief Minister said that the samples of medicines were being sent to foreign labs for examination and those who were performing well in collecting samples of medicines and sending them to foreign labs would be encouraged. This new system of purchase, supply, and distribution of medicines was an important step for the provision of quality medicines to the patients, he added. The Chief Minister said that the program to provide city scan machines in all districts was being implemented. With the installation of city scan machines in districts hospitals, the patients would have city scan facilities round the clock. The Chief Minister also directed for the audit of dialyzer machines installed in all government hospitals and to take immediate steps to overcome the shortage of nephrologists in government hospitals. The Chief Minister said that mobile health units were providing quality medical facilities to people at their doorsteps in far flung areas. The Chief Minister also directed to complete the matter regarding the purchase of more mobile health units. He also directed to present a comprehensive plan for blood bank, blood collection, and blood transfer. The Chief Minister said that motorbikes ambulance service would be introduced soon in 9 divisions of the province and the training for staff of motorbikes ambulance service was going on. The Chief Minister said that the Punjab government has handed over the administration of ambulance service of the hospitals from the health department to Rescue 1122. This new system of ambulance service would improve the service of transferring patients to hospitals on time. The Chief Minister said that Patient Transfer Service was a revolutionary step of Punjab government. He further added that continuous efforts were required for the improvement in the healthcare system which would bear fruits one day.
