Islamic brotherhood countries of Azerbaijan and Pakistan have long-standing ties, Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan
RAWALPINDI (FNNI) Governor of Punjab Sardar
Saleem Haider Khan was called on by Ambassador of Azerbaijan Khazar Farhadov at Punjab
House Islamabad in which it was decided to increase educational cooperation between
Azerbaijan and Punjab. There will be a regular exchange of delegations from the universities
of Azerbaijan and Punjab, while there was a discussion on declaring Lahore and Azerbaijan
Nakhchivan as sister cities.
Speaking on the occasion, Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan said that the Islamic
brotherhood countries of Azerbaijan and Pakistan have long-standing ties and the two
countries have an unbreakable bond while the people of both countries have mutual love. He said that the two countries have always supported each other in every difficulty, while the people of Azerbaijan feel proud to hoist Pakistani flags. He said that there are many
opportunities for cooperation in the fields of trade, commerce, IT and tourism between the
two countries and the relations between the two brotherly countries are getting stronger with time.
Governor Sardar Salim Haider Khan said that the exchange of trade and cultural
delegations between Azerbaijan and Pakistan should be further increased. He said that
Pakistan was one of the first countries to recognize Azerbaijan and there is complete harmony
between the two countries regarding global and regional issues. He said that Pakistani
investors are investing in various sectors including real estate and construction in Azerbaijan.
Ambassador of Azerbaijan Khizr Farhadov said that the volume of trade between the
two countries has increased to 100 million dollars and will increase further. He said that
Pakistan s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is expected to visit Azerbaijan in February next year, which will further improve the economic and diplomatic relations between the
countries.
